People Belong to God

Posted by CatsAngeleyes on November 16, 2010 at 4:11 PM Comments comments (0)

Fear not, for I have redeemed you ... I have called you byyour name; you are Mine. (ISAIAH 43:1)

Do you have a possession that is extremely valuable to you, one you cherish and admire? If you saw someone tossing it around carelessly or otherwise risking damage to it, wouldn't you be grieved?

God feels the same way about His possessions as we feel about ours. People belong to God. They are Hiscreations and His Spirit is grieved when He sees them being mistreated.

Not everyone shares the same calling in life, but every born-again person is an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. Every individual has a right to peace, rightousness, and joy; to have their needs met, to be used by God, and to see His anointing flow through them.

Everyone has an equal opportunity to see fruit in their ministry, but their willingness to love others has a lot to do with how much fruit they are going to see. The Holy Spirit spoke to me years ago: "One of the main reasons people don't walk in love is that it requires effort. Anytime they walk in love, it's going to cost them something."

Love requires us to withhold some things we would like to say. Love demands that we not do some things we would like to do and that we give away some things we would like to keep. Love requires us to be patient with people.

Relationships are not always easy, but they are always important to God because He values people. We need to make the effort and the sacrifices needed to love people as God wants us to love them so we do not grieve Him.

GOD'S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: God sees people as His own treasures, so be areful how you treat them.

Mind, Will, and Emotions

Posted by CatsAngeleyes on November 15, 2010 at 8:08 PM Comments comments (0)

We have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

When we invite Jesus to come into our hearts, the Holy Spirit makes His home in us. From that position in our hearts, which are the very centers of our beings, the Holy Spirit begins a purifying work in our souls (our minds, wills, and emotions).

Our minds tell us what we think, not what God thinks. The Holy Spirit is working in us to change that. We have to learn how to think in agreement with God, how to be vessels for God to think through. Old thoughts must be purified from us, and new thoughts-----thoughts from God----must become part of our thinking.

Our emotions tell us how we feel, not how God feels about situations, people, and the decisions we make. According to Psalm 7:9, God tests and tries our emotions. He works with us until we are not moved by human emotion alone, but by His Spirit.

Our wills tell us what we want, not what God wants. The will overrides emotions and even thoughts. We can use it to do the right thing even when we don't feel like doing it. We have a free will, and God will not force us to do anything. He leads us by His Spirit into what He knows will be good for us, but the final decisions are ours to make. God wants us to regularly make decisions that are in agreement with His will, not our wills.

As these three areas of our lives----mind, will, and emotions----come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we will become increasingly mature as believers.

GOD'S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: You can manage your emotions instead of letting them manage you.

Hi Everyone!!!

God Uses All Kinds

His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave ment to us] some to be apostles,... some evangelists, ... some pastors ... and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints. (Ephesians 4:11-12 )

One ot the ways God speaks to us is through people. Sometimes these people are friends or family members and sometimes they are the pastor, teachers, evangelists, apostles, and prophets He places in our lives. God gifts these people specifically to help and build up believers, as today's verse sas, for "the full equipping of the saints."

One of the gifts God has given me is the gift of teaching His Word. Although my gift of teaching has been a great blessing to my life, God actually put it in me for the benefit of others. Some people decide for whatever reason that they don't like me, don't like the way I teach, or don't believe God has called me to minister. When they do this, they quench the work the Holy Spirit could do in their lives, not through me, but through the gift He Himself has chosen to flow through me.

What's true of me is true for other ministers, too. God has placed valuable gifts in them and there will always be some people who will open their hearts to these gifts and other whowill not. We should learn to receive God's Word from a variety of people. We make a mistake when we focus too much on the vessel God chooses to use and not enough on whatHe wants to give us through that vessel.

I encourage you to all God to speak to you through whomever He chooses and to not resist a message from Him by rejecting someone He sends to speak His word to you.

GOD'S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: Learn to enjoy a variety of people and the gifts God has placed in them for your benefit.

ABOUT TC

Posted by tc on September 27, 2010 at 10:08 AM Comments comments (2)

I am 67 years old. I have been married for 44 years and we have 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. We also have 3 grandchildren, 2 girls and a boy.

My problems are spinalstenos-is which caused the second surgery at c3-c6. A cyst at t5 was the third surgery which has left me not able to walk and other problems related to nerves below the waist. Most of of the time I am in a power chair. The spinal stenosis has advanced and was blockingthe nerves to the right arm. I just had surgery to correct that inNov of 2009. I am a dog person. My wife says we are not poor but financially challenged. I agree. My typing is done with 1 finger onleft hand.

Even though MRI's are very important, I do notlike them. I do take the sedation they offer but it is next touseless. My doctor does not want me to use the newer MRI's that areopen because he says they are not as clear a picture and yet in the new building they just put up they are using the new open type mri's.

Just dx with copd. We will be adding this to: spinalstenosis, spasticity, type2 diabetics, neuropathy, incontinence, pinched nerve at L4 rt side, degeneration spine disease, andoverweight. Lets not forget high blood pressure and depression. The two most important things are the spinal stenosis which caused acompression of the spinal cord in the neck in 2005 and a cyst whichalso caused a spinal compression at T5 in 2007-9. It took 2 years to find it.

In April of 2009 my wife, Cecelia came down with breast cancer. She found it early enough that it had not moved to other parts of the body. She found it in early April and had surgery,a Modified Radical Mastectomy, on April 23. She than went through 4  chemo therapy's, three weeks apart. The test she has had so far show no cancer. She is on a 5 year hormone therapy because they say the type of cancer is caused by to much estrogen. Right now she is doing great and is my health care provider. She also sometimes does my typing and is my driver as I no longer am allowed to drive.

I would love to hear from you all either through email or offline messages. Again, I am really sorry. I planned on being here but just sitting even hurts. It really sucks. Love ya'll Trish
